The Journey of Hope is an annual celebration of the mission of the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The evening is a time of connection and celebration for the many friends and supporters of the different ministries of the sisters. It is an opportunity to highlight, create awareness of and generate financial support for the Handmaids’ mission and spirit, and invite new friends to join them in their work.
This year on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, we invite you to join us at 6:00pm for our program in the Chapel followed by dinner and an outdoor social. Your company is a gift to us! Kindly pre-register with the button below.
To our supporters: your time, prayers and financial resources contribute to our shared mission. Your contribution allows our ministries of education, solidarity, service, spirituality and community to impact more people locally and globally! Thank you for your generosity; your friendship with us is a gift.
Invitation from Sister Lyan
On behalf of the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus U.S. Province, I invite you to attend our signature celebration and annual appeal, the Journey of Hope on Wednesday, May 21.
Our theme this year, Breaking Bread: A Global Table, invites us to see ourselves as one human family, all belonging to the heart of God.
We recently asked our Sisters around the world: what are your needs? From their dreams, we identified four projects to support this year, serving those most vulnerable in India, the Philippines, Vietnam, and the United States.
- In India, our Sisters work with 63 differently-abled adults in a Vocational Training Centre. We are seeking support for a Cafe that will provide dignified and independent work experience.
- In the Philippines, our Sisters run an early childhood Learning Center. The Center is in need of operational funds including a teacher salary, a laptop and printer, safe transportation, nutritional support, uniforms and school supplies.
- In Vietnam, our Sisters give children a space of growth and community at the Thiên Ân Love School. Critical infrastructure is needed including safety railings, an outdoor playground, and classroom improvements.
- In the United States, our Sisters living in St. Louis, Missouri serve in a collaborative ministry of Catholic parishes called the Immigrant & Refugee Ministry to welcome, assist, empower, and advocate for and with immigrants and refugees.
All four projects are rooted in our mission of reparation – to work with and through Christ to bring healing to people’s hearts and peace to their relationships with God, with one another and with creation. Our hope is to raise $100,000 for the Breaking Bread Fund.
During the Journey of Hope program, we will hear first-hand stories that deepen our spirituality of encounter and pray alongside our sisters and brothers around the world whose needs for safety, security and empowerment are palpable at this time.
On behalf of all the Handmaids and those we serve, we thank you for your friendship and prayerful consideration of financial support. Being connected with you is a great gift.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Sister Lyan Tri, aci
